2 NYPD officers fatally shot, suspect dead, police say
The fatal shootings of NYPD Police Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos came after weeks of protests in city streets protesting the lack of a grand jury indictment in the deaths of two unarmed black men, Eric Garner and Michael Brown, at the hands of police. NYPD union officials have also attacked Mayor Bill de Blasio, saying he has the "blood" of the officers on his hands.
